▷ How to allocate more RAM to Minecraft

The game uses 1 GB RAM by default and the launcher disables it to use more. There is no lag in the game due to RAM, but if users have installed custom textures and Mods, the game lags and users face a tear on the screen.

How to allocate more RAM to Minecraft?

It is recommended to update Minecraft Launcher to the latest version before trying to implement this guide and also download the latest version of Java from here and install it. To increase the RAM allocated to Minecraft:

1. First, we will have to identify the amount of RAM that is safe to be allocated to the game.

2. Click in the search bar of the Windows toolbar and type »System Information«.

3. Select the »System Information» icon from the list and open it. Scribe “System information” in the search bar and select the first icon

4. Scroll down to the item »Available Physical Memory» and see how much RAM is available. Scroll down to the header “Available physical memory” and identify the amount of RAM available

5. Now open the Minecraft launcher and click the button »Start Options». Open the Minecraft launcher and select Launch Options

6. Inside Launch Options, make sure the button »Advanced settings» is activated. Make sure the button “Advanced settings” is activated.
