▷ How to deactivate or remove the Samsung payment application

Technology has allowed us to pay much more comfortably over the years. The development of functions that allow us to use our phones as credit cards ensures that mobile payment is increasingly popular, with Samsung Pay at the forefront. After all, you may forget your wallet, but he will never leave home without his phone.

But since the technology is young, the software is not as reliable as Samsung users expected. But don't be discouraged, if root is not an option, there are still ways to remove its functionality and prevent it from using your phone's resources.

With this in mind, here is a list of methods to get rid of Samsung Pay.

Method 1: disable it from app manager

This method will only work if you have root access or don't have the latest OS update. Please note that disabling Samsung Pay will remove any functionality and will no longer use system resources, but it will remain in your system.

  1. Tap the menu button and go to Settings> Applications (Applications) and tap Application manager.

    Note: On some older models, the Application Manager entry will be on the More tab (located in the upper right section of the screen).

  2. Scroll through the list and tap on Samsung Pay.

  3. Touch Deactivate and confirm. If the disable button is grayed out, you must follow one of the other methods below.

Method 2: Eliminate Samsung Pay with Titanium Backing (root is required)

As the title suggests, this method will require you to have root access on your device. If you are not sure whether it is rooted or not, there is a simple way to check if your device is rooted. Install Root Checker app from Google Play Store and check if your device has root access.

Warning: While it is confirmed that removing Samsung Pay with Titanium Backup works without affecting other functions of the device, removing other preloaded applications or services could affect critical processes necessary for the device to function properly; in some extreme cases, it might even lock the device. Be careful when using this application and always inform yourself before deciding to remove an application from the system.

  2. In the application list, toque Samsung Pay.

  3. Tap Uninstall! and confirm.

Method 3: disable Samsung payment with Pro Disabler package (pay)

If you don't have root access and have updated to the latest versions of Android, you can still disable Samsung Pay, but you will need to purchase Package Disabler Pro. Until a few months ago they also had a free version, but Samsung legally forced them to remove it.

Now it costs a little over a dollar, so it won't affect your finances much. If you decide to buy it, make sure to buy the Samsung version of the app, otherwise it won't work. Here's a quick guide:

  1. Download and install Package Disabler Pro (Samsung) desde Google Play Store.

  2. When you open the app for the first time, you will be asked to provide administrator rights. Do so by pressing Activate and then Confirm.

  3. Now that you are in the app, you should see a list of packages and their names. Scroll down until you find Samsung Pay, just tap the checkbox next to it to disable it. Repeat the procedure with Samsung Pay Framework.

  4. Confirm it is disabled by seeing if Samsung Pay has disappeared from your app drawer.

Method 4: revoke permissions for Samsung payments

If you are not prepared to spend a dollar to disable it with ease, You can also go through additional trouble to prevent Samsung Pay from leaking. Unfortunately, it won't be as effective as disabling it or removing it entirely. That is how:

  1. Go to Settings> Applications (Applications)> Application Manager, click on Samsung Pay and Force Stop. Repeat the procedure with Samsung Pay Stub.

  2. After forcibly stopping them, scroll down and tap Permissions.

  3. Revoke all Samsung Pay and Samsung Pay Stub permissions.

  4. Open Google Play Store and go from left to right. Click on My apps and games.

  5. Scroll down and tap on Samsung Pay. Uncheck Automatic update by tapping the three dots icon in the upper right corner.

  6. Go back to the Samsung Pay entry in Settings> Applications (Applications)> Application manager and clear both data and cache. Repeat the procedure with Samsung Pay Stub.

  7. This should ensure that you will not have a Samsung Pay actively working again., but it will still be present on your system and will use a small amount of system resources.
