After installing some Nuance applications, como Dragon Naturally Speaking y Omnipage, you will notice that an application called “Flexnet Software Update” O “FlexNET Connect Software Manager”. This application is related to the procedure name ISUSPM.exe and appears throughout startup or normal use. Flexnet does not have an uninstaller or an entry in the start menu.

ISUSPM.exe is the InstallShield update service scheduler. Search and automatically update some of the programs installed on your PC so that it always works with the latest version. It may come pre-installed on your computer and also runs as a startup procedure. Even though users are not offered a way to uninstall it, it is not as varied as many think.

As this application does not appear in the list of installed applications, we have to use other means to remove it. In this post, We will learn how to use the FlexNET Connect Software Manager uninstall tool and some other techniques to achieve it.

Method 1: FlexNET Connect Software Manager Uninstall Tool

After running the tool, no application that has previously used the InstallShield update service will be able to check for updates, either manually or automatically. Use this method if your problem is related to Nuance applications.

  1. Desinstale Dragon NaturallySpeaking, OmniPage or related Nuance software by pressing Ctrl + R, typing cpl and clicking OK. Double click on the application you want to uninstall and follow the procedure.

  2. Download the FLEXNet Connect Manager Uninstall Tool from here .

  3. Find the downloaded file and run it. Review the prompts and click Yes when asked “Are you sure you want to delete the FlexNET Connect Software Manager?” Click on

  4. Restart your PC and reinstall Dragon NaturallySpeaking when your PC is running.

Method 2: clear the InstallShield update service scheduler

If ISUSPM.exe was included with the Nuance software, with another application or with your computer, you can use this method to remove it completely.

  1. Download the Software Manager Uninstall Tool here .

  2. Find the downloaded file and run it. Follow the tool's prompts to complete the removal.

  3. Once this is done, restart your PC and check if ISUSPM.exe still exists.

Method 3: manual file deletion

This is a far less efficient way to clear the InstallShield update service scheduler or Flexnet software update, since there are related files elsewhere, but it still works.

  1. Open Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

  2. Go to the Procedure tab or click More details if you are on Windows 8 or more recent.

  3. Look for the processes “ISUSPM.exe” and “agent.exe”, right click on both and open the file location.

  4. After the application folder opens, kill the aforementioned processes by right clicking on them and selecting End Task or End Procedure.

  5. Now, go to the folders you previously opened and delete their content. These files should be located in Program Files (x86) N- Common FilesN-InstallShieldN-Updated.
