The error »Internet may not be available» in Android is shown every time the user connects to the Internet and this is usually due to an error in the configuration of the network that the mobile is using to connect to the Internet. It can also be due to incorrect DNS settings.
What causes the error “Internet may not be available” in Android?
We find that the underlying causes are:
-
DHCP: in DHCP connection mode, the phone automatically detects certain settings and uses them to connect to the internet. However, sometimes this can fail and the phone may not be able to automatically detect the proper settings.
-
DNS configuration: DNS settings are crucial to establish a connection to a website. Now, there are many DNS servers that you can use to connect to a website and if the website blocks these DNS servers, the connection will also be blocked.
-
Upgrades: in some cases, your phone may have important updates that need to be installed before the Wi-Fi connection is established again.
-
Application interference: It is possible that another application is interfering with the Wi-Fi functionality of the mobile so the error is being triggered. Some applications can be very unreliable and cause this error.
-
Wrong configuration: when you connect to a Wifi router, assigns you a specific IP address and certain DNS settings. By default, this setting is configured to run Wi-Fi connection in mode “DHCP”, which means the IP address does not stay the same and keeps changing. The configuration becomes invalid if the IP address changes, so the router does not allow you to connect to the Wi-Fi network. Certain DNS and IP configuration settings must be changed to change this problem.
before continuing: make sure to forget the Wi-Fi network once and restart the phone.
