However, many users still want to remove Malwarebytes from their Macs. Some may need that extra hard drive space. Others, because they do not use this application and prefer different protection tools against malware. If for any reason you want to uninstall Malwarebytes from your Mac, here we explain how to do it.

Note: uninstalling Malwarebytes from your Mac will remove any malware protection (including real-time protection). Using a computer without malware protection can lead to the unconscious installation of malicious software applications.

Method 1

  1. Inicie Malwarebytes.

  2. Click Help on the Malwarebytes top menu.

  3. Elija Desinstalar Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

  4. Click Yes in the dialog box that appears and enter your Apple ID and password when required.

  5. Click ok.

Method # 2

If for some reason you cannot uninstall Malwarebytes using the first method, mark this.

  1. Click Finder and choose Applications.

  2. Right-click on the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware application and select to move it to Trash.

  3. Using your browser, navigate to Download and remove Malwarebytes from there if present.

  4. Now, click Go in the Finder menu, choose Go to folder and type / Library.

  5. Look for these folders> files:

    • Throw demons> com.malwarebytes.Helpertool.plist

    • PrivilegedHelperTools> com.malwarebytes.Helper.Tools

    • Application support> Malwarebytes

    • Hidden> com.malwarebytes.antimalware

    • Hidden> com.malwarebytes.Malwarebytes-xpc-service

    • preferences> com.malwarebytes.antimalware.plist

  6. Right click on any of these items (inside the folders) and choose Move to Trash.

  7. Once you are done, restart your Mac and empty the trash.
