The PlayStation has been one of the most popular game consoles in the world for 23 years. The latest versions of the console offer an impressive gaming experience with high graphic characteristics, but do you remember the first PS games? The good old Tekken series, Metal Slug, Final Fantasy, Crash the maybe Medal of Honor? If you were nostalgic and wanted to play when you read these game titles, this post is just for you.

In the actual world, we use smartphones with very powerful hardware components, capable of graphically intensive tasks. Why don't we use them to make some retro games?

Here I will introduce you how to play any PS1 game on your Android. It's simple and easy, and you don't need a rooted device.

Install the PS1 emulator

The first thing you should do if you intend to play PS1 games on your Android is download the PS1 emulator. There are a couple of PS1 emulators on the Play Store, but the best in my opinion is an ePSXe emulator. It is a paid application, but it is important to highlight the money. The ePSXe emulator is very stable and runs games without wasting time or stuttering. Click this link to download it, or simply search for the ePSXe emulator in the Play Store ePSXE Emulator.

Instalar Zarchiver

The next application you will need is Zarchiver. It is an application for file management and you will use it to extract the compressed files of the BIOS and the game. To download it, Search for Zarchiver in Play Store or click this Zarchiver link.

Download PS1 BIOS

The BIOS file is like an activation key for your emulator. Without BIOS, your emulator won't work. Once you have installed and configured it, You can start. For now, just download it from the following PS1 BIOS link. I suggest you choose the EE download. UU.

Now is the time to download your favorite games. I have commented on Emuparadise.com in one of my last posts about NES games on your Android. You can see the post here if you are interested. But now, I'll introduce you to another great place where you can find tons of PlayStation Roms: Coolrom.com .

When you first open the page, click on the PlayStation link in the Consoles section. Later, select the game you want to download. Setting up the emulator

You have all the files ready and now you need to configure them correctly.

First, will configure your BIOS and later your game. To do this, open Zarchiver and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the BIOS. Find the BIOS file (in my case it is called SCPH1001.zip) and extract it. You can select the third menu option, which will extract the files from the separate folder named as your selected file.

Then, you must extract your game with the same procedure. Choose file name (in my case it is a CRT – Crash Team Racing.7z) and extract it into a separate folder. That's all, you just finished the extraction procedure.
