The infamous error code appeared a while ago and the problem continues to bother PlayStation users. 4 they are just trying to solve the problem and keep using their console like nothing happened. However, sometimes the problem can be easily solved by implementing one of several methods that can be used to resolve the problem.
What's more, sometimes the problem can be attributed to server maintenance and, if that was the real cause, there is nothing to do but wait for the problem to go away. Otherwise, Follow the instructions in the solutions below to try to solve the problem.
Solution 1: use a different PS4 account
The funny thing is, the error usually targets a specific account rather than the entire PS4 and its connection., which means that the problem can be avoided simply by using a different PSN account. If this solution does not interest you as the process of advancing your progress can be demanding, feel free to take a look at other solutions.
-
Launch your PS4 and navigate to New User >> Create a User o User 1 on the PlayStation login screen.
-
This should create the local user on the PS4 itself, not a PSN account.
-
Select Next >> New to PlayStation Network? Create an account> Register now.
-
If you select Skip, you can choose avatar and name of your local user and play offline immediately. Go to your avatar on the PS4 home screen to sign up for PSN later.
-
If it is the first time you use this PS4, go to User Profile 1 on the PS4 home screen and enter your details and preferences and select Next on each screen.
Introduction of our preferences
-
If you have less than 18 years at the time of your birthday, you will create a local user to play offline and you will have to ask an adult to approve the account later.
-
Please do not provide a previous date of birth because it is against the PSN terms of use to provide false information.
-
If you have more than 18 years old and you want to use your credit or debit card on PlayStation Store, make sure the address you enter here matches the billing address on your card.
-
Make sure you have access to the email address you entered because you will need to verify it.
-
Create an ID online and enter your first and last name. Your Online ID is your publicly visible name that other PSN users will see.
-
Choose settings for Sharing, Friends and Messages (three screens). These are for your account only; they do not affect what other PS4 users will see.
-
If you are under 18 years, account creation ends here and you can ask an adult to log in with their account to authorize access to the PSN or play offline until they do.
-
Check your email and click the verification link. If you haven't received an account verification email, check your spam and junk folders.
-
If you still can't find it, select Help to change your email address or ask us to resend email to you. Select Login with Facebook to link your PSN and Facebook accounts or Do this later.
You will have to choose this account the next time you turn on your console, so do it. The problem should go away now.
Solution 2: if the error occurs in the friends list
This error code usually appears when users try to access their friends' list and there are several ways to avoid receiving the error code the moment Sony decides to take action against these types of problems.. There are two solutions that can work for you.
-
Disconnect from the internet by unplugging the cable just before entering your PS4's friends list by navigating to Friends from the function screen.
-
Click Friends and reconnect your internet cable or connect to your wireless network while it appears in the list. The error should not appear now.
The second solution can be permanent and you won't have to repeat it every time it reappears.. However, you should be able to download the PlayStation app for your smartphone that can be used to solve the problem.
Android Users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scee.psxandroid&hl=hr
IOS Users: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/playstation-app/id410896080?mt=8
-
Download and install the PlayStation app for your respective mobile operating system and log into the app with the same credentials you used on your PS4.
-
Open the app and navigate to the friends menu. Perform some actions that you could not do while on your PS4 (accept friend requests, take a look at the list, etc.).
-
Check if the error reappears on the PS4.
Solution 3: restart your PS4 completely
Sometimes it is necessary to completely restart the console, as it clears the cache and restarts certain processes that might have gotten corrupted due to overuse of the console. This will also reestablish the connection between you and the PS4 servers., so this method always has a high probability of success.
-
Completely turn off the PlayStation 4.
-
Once the console is completely off, unplug the power cord from the back of the console.
-
Leave the console unplugged for at least a couple of minutes.
-
Plug the power cord back into the PS4 and turn it on as you normally would.
Solution 4: initialize the system in safe mode
Restarting your system may seem like a drastic measure, but it is the only way to make sure that the error code will go away forever. This will reset your settings and you may lose your personal data, but your console will be like new when done. Make sure you have a USB storage device with enough space (more of 1 GB) and a computer with an active internet connection.
-
On the USB storage device, create the necessary folders to save the update file.
-
With a computer, create a folder called “PS4” in his desk. Inside that folder, create another folder called “TO UPDATE” and leave them empty for now.
-
Download the update file. The latest updates are always available on the official PlayStation website and you can visit the latest one here. Save it to the folder “TO UPDATE” that he created in step 1 placing it in the download folder and moving it to the folder “TO UPDATE”.
-
Save the file as “PS4UPDATE.PUP”. Make sure the name is correct, since wrong names won't work and PS4 won't recognize them.
-
Completely turn off the power to your PS4 console and make sure the power indicator is not on at all. If so and if its color is orange, make sure to hold down your PS4's power button for at least 7 seconds until the system emits a second beep.
-
Connect the USB storage device to your PS4 ™ system and then press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds, which will make the console start in safe mode.
-
Choose the Initialize PS4 option (Reinstall system software) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update successfully.
-
If your PS4 ™ system does not recognize the file, check that the folder names and file names are correct. Enter folder names and file names in single-byte characters using only uppercase letters.
