Apple TV not working well? Do a simple reset.
It's common for electronic devices to tend to act strange at times. They may not respond, freeze or respond slowly for no reason. Apple TV is no exception to this. You must restart your Apple TV from time to time to get rid of these critters. Situations like when you want to gift your Apple TV to your friends, or want to resell the device, or when your Apple TV doesn't work, you need to do a hard reset of the Apple TV. If you don't know how to reset your Apple TV (4K, 4Generation, 3Generation, 2Generation, 1Generation), just follow the steps below.

How to reset Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
Paso 1: tap the settings icon on your Apple TV.
Paso 2: choose System from the Settings menu.
Paso 3: Press the Reset option. You will see two options.

Restore: this is the fastest way to factory reset your Apple TV. You don't need an internet connection.

Reboot and update: it is similar to the previous option. What's more, when choosing this option, the software will be updated after the reboot if there is an active internet connection.
How to restart Apple TV third generation or earlier
Paso 1: tap the Settings icon on your Apple TV's home screen.
Paso 2: Choose the General option from the list of options displayed.
Paso 3: Click on Reset option, again here you will see two options.

Reset all settings: choosing this option performs a factory reset and will erase all data and settings associated with your Apple TV. You do not need internet access to complete this option.

Restore: this is the same process as above, but it also installs software updates if there are any if you connect to an internet connection.
How to restart your Apple TV without the remote control
If the Apple TV Remote doesn't work, You can restart your Apple TV in two ways.

Using any of the iOS devices.

Using iTunes on PC or MacBook.
Steps to restart your Apple TV using any of the iOS devices
Paso 1: Install the Apple TV Remote app from the App Store or any of the Apple devices (iPhone / iPad). If you already have the app, check it is the updated version.
Paso 2: Connect your iOS device to the same WiFi network as your Apple TV.
Paso 3: Open the Apple TV Remote app on the iOS device.
Paso 4: Your Apple TV will be shown.
Paso 5: Enter the four-digit code that appears on your iOS device's Apple TV if prompted.
Paso 6: Now you can control your Apple TV with your iOS device with the Apple TV Remote.

Steps to restart Apple TV using the iTunes app
Paso 1: Turn off your Apple TV and connect it to your Windows or Macbook computer using the Lightning to USB cable.
Paso 2: After connecting it to your PC, turn on your Apple TV.
Paso 3: open the iTunes app. You will see the Apple TV summary page. If it doesn't appear, click on the Apple TV icon in the upper left corner of your PC.
Paso 4: choose Restore Apple TV. Will start to restore.
Paso 5: While restoring, do not disconnect the USB cable.
Paso 6: when restoration is complete, disconnect the USB cable and power cord.
Try using Apple TV now. Will work perfectly. Even so, if you have any problems or errors, take it to the nearest Apple service center.
How to reset your Apple TV remote
Apple TV has two types of remote control. Aluminum remote control for Apple TV and Siri remote control for Apple TV. The aluminum remote is white and the Apple TV Siri remote is black. If your remote control is not working properly, you can also reset the Apple TV Remote.
Before restarting the Apple TV Remote, remove the old battery and insert a new one into the aluminum case of the remote control.
