ASUS smart gesture does not work

ASUS Smart Gesture is a smart touchpad controller that can identify the user's palm and finger contact. The different gestures made on the mouse pad lead to different actions on the computer through it. Some of the gestures are two-finger swipe to move the pages or three-finger swipe to change the program. In this way, you can easily use your laptop with a more “laptop” without having to use the mouse.

Like all other gesture software, ASUS Smart Gesture is also known to have problems. Sometimes, gestures are not registering or software is not running at all. This is a known obstacle in most ASUS laptops. We have listed all the posts related to this topic. Check.

Solution 1: check if the touchpad is locked or if ASUS is disabled

Before starting the extensive troubleshooting, you should check if the function itself is disabled on your computer. Most ASUS laptops have the F9 key that disables or enables the touchpad keyboard. In some cases, it fn + F9. Make sure the touch keyboard works and is not locked.

Furthermore it was observed that after a Windows update 10, the operating system automatically disables this function. We can try to enable it and see if this fixes the problem.

Solution 2: Arregle ASUS Smart Gesture

Solution 4: reset default

Please note that resetting the settings to default will remove all your preferences and you will have to reset them from scratch.

  1. Press Windows + R, type »control» in the dialog box and press Enter.

  2. Once in the control panel, select Large Icons and double click ASUS Smart Gesture.

  3. Once the ASUS Smart Gesture settings are open, click the button »Determine all defaults«.

Solution 5: download modules

ASUS Smart Gesture also relies on various other modules to function properly and not fail.. These modules are already installed on your computer or are included in the Windows update package. Despite this, we will install these modules manually one by one and see if they make any difference in your current situation.

Solution 6: reinstale ASUS Smart Gesture

If all the above methods don't work, we have no choice but to reinstall the touch module after downloading it from the web portal. Please note that you may need administrative access to perform this solution.

  1. Press Windows + R, type »appwiz. cpl »in the dialog box and hit Enter.

  2. All the apps in front of you will be listed here. Right-click ASUS Smart Gesture and click Uninstall.

  3. Go to the official ASUS web portal and download the software on your computer.

  1. Run the installation file and check if the module installs correctly.

At the same time of these solutions, also can:

  • Navigate to the directory “C: N-Program Files (x86) N-ASUSN-Smart Gesture”, right click on »bat” and click Run as administrator.

  • Uninstall your current ATK package and restart your computer. Now install the latest ATK package and restart your computer again. Once the ATK package is installed, intente instalar ASUS Smart Gesture. Restart your computer again and see if this works.
