Method 1: reinstall NVIDIA drivers

  3. When the drivers finish updating, restart the PC and try to open the NVIDIA control panel to see if it starts.

Method 2: NVIDIA Display Driver Service

The NVIDIA Display Control Service is responsible for starting the control panel. Since it is a dependency, you should try to recover it if it is idle or restart it to fix the problem.

Method 4: set the highest resolution

  8. Restart your PC and try to start the control panel, which you can now do by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Nvidia Control Panel.

Method 6: update .NET Framework and VC ++ Redistributable

NVIDIA applications run on the .NET Framework and VC ++ Redistributable. You can get and install the latest version of .NET Framework from here and the latest version of Visual C ++ from here.

Alternatively, you can run a Windows update by pressing the Start button, typing Windows Updates and hitting Enter and finally clicking Check for updates.

Method 7: disable fast boot

UEFI-based firmware has a fast boot feature that helps the PC to boot quickly. This can also cause some third-party drivers and services, like NVIDIA's, skip start and, Thus, the control panel does not work.

Enter your PC BIOS settings and disable Quick Start / Quick start. You can access the BIOS using any of the following keys: Esc, Clear o F2 a F8, F10 o F12.

Method 8: end the Nvidia display container process

In some cases, the error could be displayed because the Nvidia display container process has failed. Therefore, in this step, we will end the Nvidia display container process from the task manager. Then:
