Users complained about the problem and there were some fixes that managed to solve the problem and we decided to put them all together in one article.

What causes Smite to be waiting for verification?

The problem is one that appears with multiple versions of the client and began to appear several years ago. Even so, the causes of the problem have remained the same over the years and can be listed and solved one by one:

  • Problems with game processes can damage the launcher and mislead you into thinking that it is somehow checking for updates or installing them..

  • The main HiRez service may also be corrupted or it may not have been installed properly in the first place, especially if the error appears right after downloading and installing the game.

Solution 1: restart client services

The Smite launcher has the option to restart accessible services and users have reported that it has been able to resolve the issue “Smite is waiting for verification”. When restarting services, certain things will be reset and the game should get rid of this bug making players unable to play.

  1. If you have installed the game on Steam, open your Steam client by double clicking on its icon on the desktop or by searching for it in the start menu or the round Cortana button (or in the search bar) next to it if you are a Windows user 10.
