Logitech's inventory covers a wide variety of personal peripherals (both wireless and wired), with special emphasis on PC navigation products, games, Internet communications, digital music and home entertainment control. One of these products is the Logitech G430 Headset, a product highly appreciated by many users for its affordable price and adequate performance.

However, recently we have had many reports of a microphone problem in Windows 10. The mic would just stop working even if it was connected properly and there were no hardware issues. In this article we will inform you of the causes of this error and we will try to solve them in a step-by-step process.
What causes the microphone to not work on the G403?
The cause of the error is not specific and can be triggered by a number of general reasons. However, some of the main causes are:
-
Windows updates: Windows 10 after updates automatically changes the privacy settings after an update that prohibits a certain app from accessing the microphone
-
Corrupt drivers: sometimes, a bug or update causes the microphone drivers to crash, what may be the cause of the problem.
-
Corrupted software: in some cases, the official Logitech software that came with the headphones may be causing the problem. It may be corrupted due to conflict or error and may be causing device configuration errors.
Now that you have a basic understanding of the nature of the problem and its causes, we will look for solutions.
Solution 1: reinstall device drivers
Before starting to configure settings, you can try reinstalling the G403 drivers. This step will ensure that you don't have any issues with the drivers or device connection, since there are numerous cases in which, due to inappropriate drivers, Windows cannot detect or recognize the device.
