Avast develops one of the best antivirus software in the industry. Provides regular updates to keep your security up to date. With the paid version, you get more functions, including email and web scanners, among others. However, some people have found a better antivirus or find Windows Defender to be quite reliable on its own. This prompts them to uninstall Avast antivirus from their system.
The correct procedure is to uninstall Avast from the program and from the functions window. This launches the Avast uninstaller which then proceeds to uninstall. However, uninstalling an antivirus is not as simple as uninstalling any other application. Antivirus files are protected by digital signatures that allow only the “reliable installer” (in this case Avast) I edited them. During the uninstall procedure, you will need to provide the signatures to complete the uninstall.
Avast installs a test operating system to complete the uninstallation. Then it will force the user to restart the computer in safe mode. Avast then proceeds to full uninstall, leaving behind the uninstaller and registry keys and some files. Although your antivirus will no longer work, you will need to complete the uninstall by removing the residual files.
