▷ Arrangement: Fortnite Crashing

Fortnite is a cooperative survival game developed by Epic Games and released in mid- 2017. Since then, has made headlines and attracted many players from all over the world. It is one of the fashion games of 2018.

Like all new games, Fortnite is not without its problems. One of the issues users experience is that the game randomly crashes when they play it. Any of the games crashes each of them on loading or intermittently after 3 O 4 games. This behavior is quite common and can be easily resolved with the solutions listed below.

Solution 1: lower graphics settings and disable overclocking

One of the simplest solutions was to reduce the graphics settings on the computer. Higher graphics settings demand more from the game's core engine and the computer itself. These high settings are known to cause problems as the game is very young and there is not much development from the company as well..

Lower the graphics settings in the game and also disable all kinds of Overclocking on your CPU and GPU. Overclocking has also been known to cause game discrepancies and crashes.. After making the necessary changes, restart your computer completely and see if the problem is solved.

Solution 2: reinstall the game

If the game has some wrong files or settings, can be fixed by reinstalling the game completely. This solution works not only for PC users but also for Xbox gamers. 2. All requests will be listed here. Check them out until you find Fortnite. Right-click and select »Uninstall«.

Solution 3: change game settings

Each game usually has a documentation file that contains all the settings. Once the game starts, use this resource to load the necessary settings and then start the game client accordingly. We can change this configuration (change resolution, etc.) and see if they work. You can always make a spare copy of the configuration file so that you can replace it if something goes wrong. Remember that you must change some settings on your own, since every computer is different.

1. Press Windows + E to start Explorer. Now select the tab View and check »Hidden items«. Save changes and exit.

1. Navigate to the following directory:

C:N-Usuarios_Strix_AppDataN-Local_FortniteGame_Salvado_Configurar_WindowsClient

The file »GameUserSettings« will be present here. Copy the file and paste it somewhere accessible. Once you have a spare copy, open the file for editing in Notepad.

1. Now change the following settings in notepad:

Solution 4: disable Intel graphics card and run DirectX

Another issue was observed with systems that had more than one working graphics card. There are reports that this causes issues with most games that are fixed by disabling the Intel graphics card.

1. Press Windows + R, type »devmgmt. msc »in the dialog box and hit Enter.

2. Once in device manager, open the »Display adapters«, right click on the Intel HD graphics and select »Disable Device«.

1. Now, wait for the changes to take place and let your current graphics card load the whole system. Once this is done, try starting the game and see if you can play without glitches.

Solution 5: add a registry key (TDR)

TDR periodically checks if your graphics hardware responds as expected. If the graphics hardware does not respond to TDR within two seconds, Windows automatically assumes that the hardware is locked and forces you to “reboot”. This is done to prevent the whole computer from freezing as it used to in the past.

We can try adding a new value to your TDR related registry and see if this solves the problem in question. If you don't, you can revert the changes by removing the key.

Note: the registry editor is a powerful tool. Changing passwords you don't know can hamper your computer's performance or even make it unusable. Make a backup of your registry before proceeding with the solution just in case.

1. Press Windows + R, scribe “regedit” and press Enter.

2. Navigate to the next route using the left navigation panel:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM> CurrentControlSet> Control> Graphics drivers

1. Once at the destination location, right-click on any empty space to the right of the screen and select $ 0027 New> Valor DWORD (32 bits) $ 0027. You can also select “QWORD value (64 bits)”.

1. Set the new name as »TdrLevel» and set the value as »0«. Press OK to save changes and exit.

1. Restart your computer and check if this resolves the Fortnite crash.

Solution 6: check for collisions on the server

If all the above methods don't work, there are likely to be multiple crashes at the end of the game and there is practically nothing you can do except keep checking when the problem is resolved. Servers can fail due to numerous reasons, as untimely maintenance, server overloads, etc.

Look for any official correspondence on Twitter or you can use third party channels and see if there are reports of Fortnite not working. From there, you can get an idea if the servers are down or working normally.
