▷ How to convert MP4 to MP3 using Windows Media Player

Contents

MP4 files are used to store and watch videos, while MP3 files are used for storing and viewing audio. MP4 and MP3 file formats have the same lineage: both come from the Moving Picture Experts Group file compression format (MPEG). What's more, MP4 and MP3 file formats are quite similar in their properties, the only major difference between the two is the fact that the MP4 format is for video and MP3 for audio.

Converting between the two formats works quite easily. MP4 file format contains video and audio, while MP3 file format contains only audio. This being the case, an MP4 file can be converted to an MP3 file simply by deleting its video content. However, converting an MP3 file to an MP4 file is not that simple, as it is generally not possible to add video to an audio file and convert it to an MP4 file. There are a large number of different applications and programs designed for the Windows operating system that are capable of converting MP4 files to MP3 files..
