Vortex mod manager is a massive open source mod manager that allows you to download, install and manage different mods for your games with an easy to use interface. It supports quite a few games and is available for download on Windows 7, 8 Y 10 along with support for Windows XP as well.

To start with the vortex, go to website www.nexusmods.com and register or log into an existing account. They offer free and premium memberships. After registration, login and download vortex mod manager.

Interface

Changing paths
Before you start installing mods, we need our mod manager to manage our games by changing the paths of the games and mods. Some mods can only be implemented if the game and mods share the same unit.
Once you have set the mods directory to the same drive as your games, you should see the Hard Link Implementation option, make sure it's selected.

Go to Settings> Vortex. Here you will see the option to configure multi-user mode which gives you the option of Per User or Shared. As the name suggests, Per User will give each user account on the computer its modification and configuration preferences while in shared mode, preferences remain the same for all users.

As the game that we are going to modify for this tutorial is Skyrim Special Edition, we have to change the base path to the same drive as our game.

Installing the Mods

First, we have to configure the vortex to handle Nexus Links. You can easily do it by clicking the blue button or going to Setting> Descargar and check the driver to download with the administrator.

For this tutorial, we are adding a new map style to Skyrim Special Edition called Classic with All Roads. Go to the following link

Once the download is complete, a notification will appear asking you to install the mod. Press install.

You can do this by clicking enable in the immediate popup. after installation or just by going to the MODS tab and clicking the gray button from your newly installed mod which should turn green. You can also check your modifications by going to the Plugin tab.

To manually add and install mods, go to the same link. This time we are going to download a new mod map called Paper. Click Manual Download.

Delete a mod
