▷ What to do if you see a bill from itunes.com/bill?

Contents

If you cannot recognize the amount charged to your account, several purchases can be grouped together in a single transaction. Sometimes, you may not receive a separate confirmation email for each purchase. What's more, some charges appear on your statement a couple of days after you make your purchases. And if you have recently given your iPhone or iPad to your children, they may have made some in-app purchases. However, This is what to do when you receive an email from “unknown payment”.

What should you do when you receive an unknown payment from iTunes?

  1. Check your recent purchases or check your purchase history in iTunes.

  2. Check your subscriptions.

  3. If you are an Apple Family Pack organizer, check the purchases of other members.

  4. Check if you see an unknown App Store or iTunes Store charge on your bank account. You can also check Apple's support website and search for this topic.

If you can't identify the payment, you may face phishing emails (fake emails that try to trick you into sharing your personal information, such as an Apple ID password or credit card information).

Note: make sure you DO NOT share any personal information in these emails before guaranteeing their legitimacy.

If there have really been purchases that you cannot recognize and did not authorize, make sure if any of your kids accidentally didn't make some in-app purchases, without your consent. If this is the case, you can request a refund in the app store for accidental purchases by children. Here's how to do it.

Find the unknown money order number

To send the request, you must find your unknown PO number (Order ID). There are two ways to do it.

Via email

  1. Search your email inbox associated with Apple ». To reduce it, you can also search for the specific apple email: »[email protected].»

  2. Sort your search results to find the ones you want. As direct access, at the bottom of every email, you can see a link to your purchase history. It will take you directly to that section of the iTunes Store.

  3. Once you find the received email, copy the order number. You can find it at the top right of the email (after “Order ID”). You will need that number to submit the request.

Via iTunes Store

If you've been deleting your receipts to clean up your email, you can use the iTunes Store to access all the purchase history you have made.

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer.

  2. Go to the iTunes Store and click on Account in the menu bar.

  3. In the drop-down menu, choose View my account.

  4. Now, Enter your Apple ID password and you will be taken to your account page.

  5. Scroll down to view the Purchase History subsection.

  6. Click See All on the right to see the full list.

  7. You cannot search your history here (how you can search your email inbox). However, jumps to a specific month and year to find the unknown purchase.

  8. Once you have found the unauthorized purchase, copy the order number.

  2. When the site loads, choose the Email button. It will take you to a form where you can enter your contact information and specific details.

  3. Enter the unknown order number in the field provided (if you have more than one unknown purchase, you may need to fill out more requests)

  4. In the details section, write »Refund for in-app purchases made by a minor«.

  5. Once the form is complete, send the application.

After submitting the request, must wait for Apple's response. Hopefully, they'll let you know the status of your refund fairly quickly.

Avoid future unknown purchases

To avoid future unknown purchases, be sure to follow the following methods.

Disable in-app purchases

  1. On your iDevice, go to Settings, tap General and choose Restrictions.

  2. Tap Enable restrictions (if not activated yet).

  3. Create passcode restrictions and re-enter your passcode to confirm. Here you can choose a different passcode than the one you use to unlock your device.

Note: If you forget your password, you will need to erase your device and set it up as a new one.

  4. Once you are done with the passkey, scroll down to the in-app purchase toggle and disable it. If you are not using In-App Purchases, can completely disable iTunes Store, Install apps, iBooks Store and In-App Purchases.

Wraps up

If there really have been unauthorized purchases from your devices, or you have entered your Apple ID credentials on a fake Apple website or portal (phishing), go to apple support and search “Apple ID is in danger”, or contact Apple directly. What's more, you can try to delete your apple id. What's more, change your Apple ID password and, if possible, set up two-factor authentication for your Apple ID.

The best practice is to always keep your iDevices password protected. Now be sure to let us know if this article has been helpful to you in the comment section below..
