This is the error code I received when setting up a client's scanner. The answer and the answer that worked for me is very easy and simple, but before discussing the answer, I would like to inform readers about the background to this problem.
The customer intended to configure their scanner to be able to use it to scan multiple documents into a single PDF.
It was a Canon multifunction printer, initially connected via USB. And to make things easier, wanted the customer to use the Canon IJ Scan utility because it had great features to achieve what the customer wanted.
Therefore I asked the customer to connect the printer to their wireless router, which was a success.
Then we run the printer software from the Canon site to download and configure the printer on the PC.. (Windows 8.1 / 64 bits).
Then we downloaded IJ Scan Utility and tried to scan various documents, which resulted in an error 2,140,21, 2,140,21
Then, what we did to fix the problem was to hold down the printer stop button for 10 seconds and then release, which fixed the problem immediately.
