Windows has an NTServiceConfiableInstaller account on Windows 10. This account owns important files and prevents them from being deleted. Therefore, if you try to modify any of these files, you will receive a warning “You need permission from TrustedInstaller” and will not be able to continue.

The only way to continue modifying these files is to change the property. The property ensures that files and folders can be read / to write / execute without any impediment. If you have completed the action you are taking, it is strongly recommended that you change the property back to TrustedInstaller to prevent it from being changed again.
Taking ownership of the TrustedInstaller
-
Right click on the file / folder and select »Properties» from the drop-down menu.
-
Navigate to the tab “Safety” and click “Advanced” present at the bottom of the screen. As you can see, there are no proper permissions for your account in this case.
-
Click the »Change» button on the previous screen. It will be right in front of the owner's value. Here we will change the owner of this folder from TrustedInstaller to your computer account. Make sure you are logged in as an administrator.
-
Now enter your username in the empty space provided and click on »Verify names». Windows will automatically list all successful accounts with this name.
If you can't find your account name with this method, you can try to manually select it from the list of available usergroups. Click on “Advanced” and when the new window appears, click on “Search now”. A list of all user groups on your computer will appear at the bottom of the screen. Select your account and press «Accept». When I return to the smallest window, press “To accept” again.
-
Now check the line »Replace owner in subcontainers and objects«. This will ensure that all folders / files inside the folder also change ownership. In this way, you won't have to go through all the processes over and over again for the subdirectories present. You can also check the box “Replace all permission entries for child objects with permission entries inherited from this object” according to your preferences.
-
Now close the Properties window after clicking »Apply» and reopen it afterwards. Go to the security tab and click on »Advanced«.
-
In the permission window, click on »Add» present at the bottom of the screen.
-
Click on »Select principle«. A window similar to the one in step will appear 4. Repeat step 4 again when i do. Now check all the permissions (giving full control) and press »OK«.
-
Check the line »Replace all permission entries of child objects with permission entries inherited from this object» and press Apply.
-
Now you can modify / remove the object without any impediment. If you get an error that it is open elsewhere, you can open your task manager and end all processes related to it.
Note: It is recommended that you only perform this operation on files that you know. Deleting system files can harm your PC. What's more, after modifying or implementing changes, you need to change ownership again to make sure your PC is more secure.
