Windows users often come across various suspicious files when using their computers for their personal purposes and, often, not sure how that specific file got onto your computer. It is good to be careful and avoid opening or downloading files and programs of unknown origin.
The best thing to do is to simply Google each file that interests you because many of them can be malicious if you download them from an incomplete website.. Some files are not recognized as malicious even by the best antivirus programs, especially if they are not updated regularly. Let's take a look at this file and find out if it is malicious or not.
Should the MASetupCleaner.exe file be removed??
This particular file was reported as of unknown origin by many Windows users because they don't know where it came from.
It turns out that this file belongs to a program called Samsung Kies, which is basically a program that makes it easy to sync your Samsung Android phone with your computer. Users were alarmed by the fact that Windows Firewall reported that this program was trying to establish an Internet connection.
If you have Samsung Kies installed on your computer, you have nothing to worry about, but the file can be annoying if these popup messages keep popping up. However, if you don't have Samsung Kies installed, it may be a virus with the same name. Find out how to fix these issues below.
Solution 1: uninstall Samsung Kies
If you installed Samsung Kies to repair your phone by downloading the latest firmware or to sync your files once, you may not need it regularly, which means you can freely erase it. Try this uninstall method before doing anything else.
-
Disconnect the USB cable from the device before continuing.
-
Download the correct version of Kies by visiting http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies and selecting your version at the top of the page.
-
Run the file you just downloaded by locating it in the download folder
-
Click Remove when prompted to Reinstall or Remove from Kies.
-
Click the checkbox next to Delete temporary archive file and click Yes.
-
Later, the application will be removed from the computer.
If you don't currently have access to an internet connection, you can also uninstall Kies from Control Panel or Settings app and remove it from there.
We are sure you tried as soon as you thought about uninstalling Samsung Kies, but let's go over the process one more time for users who are having a hard time uninstalling apps.

If you use the settings, just click on the apps section as soon as you enter the settings.

Wait to see if the MASetupCleaner.exe error still appears.

On the Windows PowerShell screen, copy and paste the following command to receive the complete list of the applications you have installed along with detailed information about each one. Make sure to click Enter after pasting the text to run the command.

-
The output of the above command will be a list with two columns. The first column shows the full name of the application (Name) and the second column shows the full package name (PackageFullName).
