▷ How to extract and update the firmware of Huawei shares

Contents

For advanced Android users who own Huawei devices, there may be scenarios where you just want to flash specific files from an OTA update. As an example, if your device crashes accidentally and you know for sure that to update specific files from an update package ( instead of a full ROM) it would help you to get back your device.

In this Appuals guide, We will show you exactly how to extract and update specific files from Huawei firmware update packages. We offer 3 methods: Huawei Update Extractor para Windows, the SplitUpdate script for Linux / Mac and an alternative script plus Linux with a couple of extra features.

Requirements

  • Firmware update.zip
  • Huawei Update Extractor (Windows only)

  • Script de Perl SplitUpdate (fountain) (Linux / Mac / Windows)

  • Script alternativo (is extracted to the same folder as $ 0027splitupdate $ 0027 instead of departure /, and includes a Linux-only mount script)

You must first determine your current version of Huawei firmware. Verifique en Configuración> Sistema> Acerca del teléfono, later copy the number of your building.

You should see, as an example, Something like: BLA-L29 8.0.0.132 (C636)

This translates into: BLA-L29C636B132. Because it will replace “8.0.0” by C636, and add a B in front of 132.

A brief note on Nougat versus Oreo

Partitions were changed a bit in Oreo. The boot partition was split into “ramdisk” Y “kernel”. Recovery partition split into recovery_ramdisk, recovery_vendor y recovery_vbmeta, which also shares the kernel partition with ramdisk.

Then, with that information, you probably want to update the ramdisk and recovery_ramdisk; the ramdisk is where the Magisk will be updated / SuperSU and the recovery_ramdisk is where the TWRP will be updated.

Let's say, as an example, which has the firmware BLA-L29C636B132.

Would you go to Pro-Teammt firmware data base and later you would enter your full firmware in the search engine and search for your model.

Then locate the row that indicates “FullOTA-MF” and press the button “To update” in that row.

Later you will download the complete OTA update.zip file. You need to open it in a file manager and extract the file “Update.app” from your computer.

PROFESSIONAL SUGGESTION: If the problem is with your computer or laptop, you should try to use Reimage Plus, which can scan repositories and replace damaged and lost files. This works in most of the cases when the problem originates due to system corruption. You can download Reimage for By clicking here

Download the Huawei Update Extractor and extract it on your computer. Launch the HuaweiUpdateExtractor.exe program in the main folder.

Go to the Settings tab and uncheck the option “Check header checksum”.

Now go back to the Extract tab and click the… button to select the update.app file that you previously extracted.

The screen will be filled with all the files inside the update.app file. Now you can right click on any of these files and select “Extract selected”, which will give you another dialog to select where to send the extracted file.

Later, you can use fast boot to update the extracted files, as an example, a ramdisk.

As an example, put the files you want to flash in your main ADB path and run an ADB terminal.

Later, put your device into fast boot mode using $ 0027adb reboot bootloader $ 0027

After that, you can update the file using quickboot. Then, if i wanted to flash something on ramdisk, I would use the ADB command: fastboot flash ramdisk xxxxx.img

Despite this, in Nougat will extract $ 0027BOOT $ 0027 from the update.app file and update it using: fastboot flash boot boot.img

Perl writing method ( Linux y Mac)

First download the splitupdate.zip and extract it.

Now go to the folder “divided” extracted and run a terminal. Enter the following commands in your terminal:

chmod +x splitupdate
chmod +x crc

Now, following the instructions in the Windows section of this guide to get a full OTA .zip update, extract update.app into folder $ 0027Split $ 0027 and open another terminal. Enter these commands:

./splitupdate UPDATE.APP file_to_extract

If you write $ 0027file_to_extract $ 0027 or whatever is or is not in UPDATE.APP will list all images it contains.

./splitupdate UPDATE.APP $ 0027 will extract all files in update.app; will generate the files in the folder $ 0027output $ 0027 newly created. Filtering is not perfect.

If you use $ 0027. / splitupdate UPDATE.APP RAMDISK $ 0027, will extract all images with RAMDISK on your behalf, so you will get RAMDISK.img and RECOVERY_RAMDISK.img.

Alternative writing method

It will modify the following files inside the alternate writing folder, using terminal:

chmod +x simg2img
chmod +x mount.sh

If you are going to use mount.sh, you need to edit the script and replace YOUR_SUDO_PASSWORD_HERE with your real password. Alternatively, can erase $ 0027echo YOUR_SUDO_PASSWORD_HERE | $ 0027 and then manually enter your password while using the script.

Later extract system.img or any other file you want and use $ 0027 $ 0027. / mount.sh SYSTEM $ 0027.

This will convert SYSTEM.img to SYSTEM.raw and mount it to $ 0027split_folder / SYSTEM / $ 0027 as a loop device, also chmod 777 all in SYSTEM /.

SUGGESTION: If none of the methods have solved your problem, we suggest you use Reimage repair tool, which can scan repositories to replace damaged and lost files. This works in most cases, when the problem originates due to a system corruption. Reimage will also optimize your system for maximum performance. You can download Reimage for By clicking here
