Problems related to disconnecting Razer devices using Synapse are very common and not rare at all. These issues have been around since the software was released and they all reappear from time to time when Windows or Synapse is updated or a new feature is added..

Despite this, before continuing with the answer, you need to make sure you have a genuine Razer product that you are trying to connect. If you have a copy or an equivalent, you won't be able to connect it to Synapse no matter what.

What causes the Razer Synapse not to detect devices?

Getting each peripheral recognized on your computer regardless of the operating system and version of Synapse is not an easy task.. This is why the reasons why your device may not be recognized are very diverse.:

  • You are running an older version of Windows 7. As reported by various users, Windows 7 for home and education does not support Synapse correctly. All later versions of Windows are supported.

  • The USB drivers from which the mouse is connected are outdated or contain some discrepancies.

  • Synapse software has an error status. This happens more frequently and a simple reinstallation fixes the problem.

  • You may be installing older drivers for your Razer products from the CD rather than the latest ones available.

  • Sometimes, new but unstable drivers can prevent device detection and can also trigger high CPU usage by Razer Synapse …

  • Make sure your Windows is updated to the latest version as some versions of Windows are known to cause problems when the application does not correctly detect devices or when it does not open.

Before going into details about how to fix this problem, make sure you have administrator privileges and an active internet connection on your computer.
