Office Outlook is an email client that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. Since Microsoft Outlook is an email client that helps manage email messages from multiple accounts, it is not uncommon for users to add several different emails to Outlook. What causes the error “We could not create the perspective data file”?

The things that can cause this problem are listed below.

  • Error de Outlook: the most common cause of this error is a bug in Microsoft Outlook. This error prevents users from adding an account from the Add Account option. You will only see this error if you click File and select the Add Account option. Therefore, a simple solution is to use another way to add your account.

  • Simplify the Account Creation Wizard: if you are using the simplified Account Creation Wizard that appears at the start of Outlook, that can also cause this problem. This wizard is a newly added feature and is buggy too. Disabling the Simplified Account Creation Wizard solves the problem in this case.

Make sure you have also enabled Outlook from your email provider side. Outlook and other email clients need the proper permissions before adding your email account. You can go to the access and security options in the Gmail settings and select the app passwords. Now select the appropriate options, as your device, etc. This option will give you a code of 16 digits to enter as password.

Method 1: use Manage profiles

Since the problem is probably caused by a bug in Microsoft Outlook that prevents you from adding an account via the Add Account option, you can try to use the alternative way to add the account. You can successfully add a new email account through the Outlook Profile Management window. Therefore, follow the steps below to add a new account through the profile management process.

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Click File in the upper left corner

  3. Click Account Settings. A new dropdown should appear

  4. Select Manage profiles. Confirm any additional indications

  5. Close Outlook to make sure Outlook doesn't block any changes

Now, select the appropriate options and add your email account from here. Everything should work fine once you're done.

Method 2: use of mail option (alternative to method 1)

This is an alternative option for the method 1. If for some reason you don't want to use Outlook to add the email account, you can also use email option in Control Panel. This option will take you to step 5 of the method 1 and from there the steps are the same.

  1. Hold down the Windows key and press R

  2. Type control panel and press Enter

  1. Select your Outlook profile and click OK

Method 3: disable simplified account creation

If you are trying to add your account through the wizard “Conectar Outlook a Office 365” and Outlook 2016, then the problem may be due to that. The account creation process using the Outlook to Office Connection Wizard 365 known as simplified account creation. Disabling this simplified account creation will replace it with the normal account creation wizard, that can solve the problem. We can easily disable the simplified account creation through the registry editor. Follow the steps below

  1. Hold down the Windows key and press R

  2. Type regedit and hit Enter

4. Locate and click settings in the left pane.

  2. Now double click on the newly created key and make sure you have 1 with the value

  3. Click ok
