Solution 1: Power cycle your system

Before going into technical details, it is always advisable to turn the entire system off and on. This will eliminate any configuration errors or error states that any module on your computer is in. Power off and on means completely shutting down your computer and restarting it after all power has been used up. This completely clears your RAM and forces the system to recreate all temporary configuration files.

  1. Turn off your computer. Turn it off properly.

  2. If you have a laptop, take out the battery. If you have a PC, Take out the main power supply and any external peripherals (excluding mouse and keyboard).

  3. Now press and hold the power button for a few 30 seconds. This will force out static charge and excess energy.

  4. Now, wait for 3 a 5 minutes before turning everything back on. Try to start the game and see if the problem is solved.

Solution 2: change GameConfig file

If you are using modifications / third-party additions to your game, most likely the game configuration file is not working or is not compatible with your system. After our investigation, we ran into several different cases where users were unable to start their game using DirectX 11. However, they were able to start their game with DirectX 10. This is absurd since DirectX 11 is the successor to DirectX 10 Y 10.1 and it has all the options present in the previous version. These are some of the statistics that we point out:

DirectX 11 (con o sin MSAA): the game crashes on 5-10 minutes

DirectX 10.1 (con MSAA): the game crashes on 5-10 minutes

DirectX 10.1 (sin MSAA): the game doesn't crash at all.

If all the above methods don't work, the graphics drivers installed on your computer may be out of date or corrupted. Because of this, the game cannot be started correctly and indicates this error. We will try to reinstall the graphics drivers using the Display Driver Uninstaller (GOD) and we will see if this solves the problem for us.

  1. Go to the official NVIDIA website and download the latest drivers for your graphics card. If you have an AMD graphics card, you can download your drivers from their site.
