Users experience the error message »ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE» when they are unable to access certain websites on their computer. It should be mentioned in advance that this problem may be on your side or server side.

If the problem is on your side, router or internet settings fail the most. If the problem is server-side, the server may not be accepting requests on the required port addresses. This is a very generic problem and if the problem is on the client side, almost always fixes instantly.
What causes the error “ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE” and Google Chrome?
The reasons why this error message can appear when accessing websites in Google Chrome are, among others, the following
-
Router problems: your router could be in an error state that could be causing problems sending requests to designated ports.
-
Proxy settings: if you use a proxy connection when accessing websites, will not handle your requests correctly. Disabling or enabling the proxy server based on the situation fixes the error.
-
Wrong website access environment: if you are accessing a private address on a public network, you will get the error message.
-
Serious problems: if you are the owner of the website and your users cannot access the website, make sure you are properly handling and servicing requests that are made on the proper ports.
Before starting with the solutions, you need to make sure you are connected to the correct internet network. If you are trying to access a private address, must be in that network. We will develop this point later in the solutions.
Solution 1: reboot the router
In most cases, restarting the router fixed the error messages instantly. There are numerous cases where the router goes into an error state which is quite common for network devices. A simple reboot will usually fix this error message.
-
Turn off your router's power supply and leave it idle for approximately 2-5 minutes.

-
Once the time has elapsed, turn it on again and after a few moments, reconnect your computer.
-
Now try to access the web page and check if the error message has been resolved.
If this cannot solve your problem and you still experience the error message, you can navigate to all other solutions. If even they don't work, you can try restarting your router. Please note that you may need to know the details that your Internet Service Provider uses on your router to make it work, so give them a call before restarting to ask for the details.
-
Locate the small hole behind your router labeled reset.
-
Take a small pin and hold the hole for a few 4-5 seconds.

-
Your router will now reboot. You can easily connect to the router by ethernet cable and go to the router's address (mostly printed also on the back).
-
Now enter the details provided by your ISP to access the Internet. Now check if the error message has been resolved.
Solution 2: disable / enable proxy server
If you use a proxy server outside of your organization or office, you will not be able to access the internet. A proxy server adds an additional component before accessing the Internet to save time and bandwidth, etc. These proxy servers are mostly not deployed outside of office and hospital environments. Depending on your situation, you need to disable or enable the proxy server on your computer.
-
Press Windows + R, scribe “inetcpl.cpl” in the dialog box and press Enter.
-
Now select the connections tab and click on LAN Settings.

-
Now you need to enable or disable the proxy server depending on the environment you are in.

Solution 3: Check the address
Another scenario where you may experience this error message is when you try to access a private address while connected to a public network.. The site address, What “192.168.1.8”, etc., generally corresponds to a private address that can only be accessed on private networks.

Make sure the address you are trying to access is not linked by networks. If so, make sure you are connecting to the correct network and then try to access it again.
In addition to the above solutions, you should also try the following solutions:
-
You try to access the website on another network with a different ISP.
-
Try to access the site using another browser. If everything works perfectly in the other browser, it means there are problems with your browser and you can go ahead and restart or reinstall it.
-
Try the incognito tab. This will help determine if your browser add-ons are responsible for the error you are experiencing..
-
Try to access the website on another device while on the same network. Do the same later while connected to another network. This will help diagnose and isolate the problem on your device or on your network..
-
If all solutions fail, do not hesitate to contact your internet service provider.
